Help with Speyside Challenge
This page provides help for participants using the Speyside Challenge website and mobile app.
Common mobile-app issues
If the app cannot connect, check that your phone has an internet connection and try again. Journeys that have not yet synchronised remain saved on the device.
Account and login help
You can use the same account details on the Speyside Challenge website and mobile app. If you cannot remember your password, select Forgotten Password from the app or website login screen and follow the instructions sent to your email address.
Journey tracking and location permissions
Location access is required while recording a journey so the app can calculate your distance, including when your phone is locked or the app is running in the background.
If tracking is not working, open your iPhone or Android settings, find Speyside Challenge, and check that the app has the required Location permissions.
Offline journeys and synchronisation
Journeys are saved on your device when you are offline and should synchronise when an internet connection becomes available. You can also use the app’s retry or synchronisation option when you are back online.
Do not uninstall the app while an unsynchronised journey is still stored on your device, as uninstalling may remove the saved journey.
Photos and videos
You can attach a photo or video to a journey where this is supported by your version of the app. If an attachment does not upload, check your internet connection and the app’s photo library or camera permissions in your phone settings, then try again.
